The Ochiltree Community Hub (OCH) is a SCIO Charity, formed in October 2014, and has 10 local residents on it-s Trustee Board.

The Vision of the OCH is the establishment a community facility that is a well-used, high profile, multipurpose and connected community hub promoting and improving Health and Wellbeing, Education, Community Cohesion and Togetherness. This vision help improve the trending decline towards the lowest 20% sector within SIMD, as evidenced from the SIMD reports 2004 / 2008 / 2012 / 2016/2020

The OCH facility is for the Community, with the Community, by the Community and not only for the Ochiltree and Skares rural area but for those communities close by who will be encouraged to use facilities and services to improve their health and wellbeing.

The OCH overriding objective is to have a viable and sustainable facility to support the local communities for many years to come.

The Hub will be a facility for the whole of Ochiltree & Skares Community Council area and those communities close by

The Hub provides the following facilities:-

-Community Caf- with WI-FI facilites

-Commercial kitchen, available for let

-Meeting Rooms

-Flexible sized large hall

-IT suite and Book point

-Changing Facilities and shower

-Administration Office

Which allows the Hub, in collaboration with third parties, to provide:-

-Employment/Volunteer and Training opportunities, Council Surgeries

-Health and wellbeing initiatives in collaboration with East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership and the NHS

-Wellbeing activities

-Recreational / Sports activites

-Educational activites

-Historical information on the ABC of Ochiltree, Agriculture, Books (including Burns, Boswell & Brown), Coal Mining and Community

-Electric car charging facilities
