Speed networking is a great way to expand your network and find new business opportunities.

Join Ayrshire Chamber for an afternoon of Speed Networking at Parks JLR (Ayr). Please note the speed networking will take place inside vehicles in the showroom so delegates will be required to access the vehicles.

Once you have grabbed a warm drink, take a seat inside a designated vehicle. Each delegate will be given a number and you will have 60-90 seconds (TBC) to introduce yourself and your business to each person inside your vehicle. After your pitch, you will become the listener. The bell will ring, signalling the next round of introductions.

Over the course of the event you will have the opportunity to meet everyone at the event. Afterwards, there will be time for further networking and conversation with other delegates, allowing you to connect with businesses in a short time.

TOP TIPS

BE PREPARED

During the Speed Networking facilitated session there is not much time for small talk compared to other networking events so make you come prepared. Think about your 60-90 second pitch and how you are going to deliver any messages you want to communicate in that short time. Remember to bring your business cards and any other materials/brochures you might want to hand over to the other delegates if they are interested.

THINK ABOUT THE END BEFORE YOU START

Before you attend, set yourself clear goals and objectives to use each time you are talking to the other delegates. We will send you a copy of the delegate list beforehand so think how you could help them - referrals, products, services or advice.

REMEMBER

Ask questions and listen too - this will really let you understand what you can do to help and support. Focus on building relationships, not getting a quick sale.

FOLLOW UP

Take a notepad and pen and take notes throughout and follow up shortly afterwards.
