Young Chamber (YC) is a pilot project funded by the Scottish Government which provides a vehicle for the voice of young people on issues impacting upon the environment in which they live. These issues can range from economic, social, health, behaviour – in fact anything the young people feel passionate about within their local or school community. With support from the local business community the YC looks at a means to address their issues. Projects may evolve into whole school, cross curricular activities or individual groups.

By participating in YC the young people subconsciously gain new skills, team work, communication, negotiation, leadership, respect, confidence, all leading to responsible citizens, effective contributors, successful learners and confident individual.

 

What makes YC unique is that it is wholly led by young people!
